Homemade Pav Bhaji Masala Recipe
Pav bhaji is one of Mumbai’s favorite street foods—spicy, buttery, and full of flavor. And at the heart of this dish is the pav bhaji masala. While it’s easy to grab a pack from the store, making your own homemade pav bhaji masala is a total game-changer.
It’s fresh, flavorful, and free from preservatives or fillers. Plus, you get to control the ingredients and adjust the spice to your liking. This masala isn’t just for pav bhaji—it’s also amazing in tawa pulao, masala pav, paneer bhurji, or even veggie stir-fries.
All you need are a few basic spices: coriander seeds, cumin, fennel, dry red chilies, black pepper, cloves, cinnamon, and amchur (dry mango powder). Just dry roast them, grind, and your homemade masala is ready! The aroma you get from freshly roasted spices is next-level.
Once made, store it in an airtight container. It stays good for up to 3 months. Make a small batch or double it if you use it often—you’ll never want to go back to store-bought again.
