Mawa Modak


This mawa modak or milk powder modak is an absolutely delicious and super easy modak or kozhukattai variety make with just three main ingredients like milk powder,milk and sugar. Its basically just palkova shaped into modak or kozhukattai .If you are pressed for time and have any milk powder at home try this mawa modak which takes hardly 15 -20 mins to make. If you like you can make a stuffing of dry fruits and nuts and fill it inside the modak it will taste superb. Moreover you can divide the mawa into two parts and for one you can add cocoa powder and mix well and then fill the modak mould on one side with this chocolate mawa and other side with plain mawa and voila you get a delicious two in one chocolate mawa modak .😋

Ingredients

Milk powder-1 cup

Milk -1/2 cup

Powdered sugar-1 Tbsps

Ghee-2 -3 tsps

Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp

Method

👉Heat a kadai add ghee next pour the milk and stir well.





👉Add milk powder and keep stirring continuously until the mixture forms a mass and leaves the sides of the kadai.





👉Transfer the contents to a bowl allow it to cool a bit.


👉Now add sugar powder and cardamom powder mix everything well and knead to form a dough.





👉Grease the modak mould with ghee and keep it ready .


👉Fill in the moulds with the mawa dough and press tightly and remove the excess from the sides .Now open the mould gently and remove the modak.






👉Easy and tasty mawa modak ready .


👉You can powder the nuts and dry fruits and add it as a filling.I have made just plain mawa modak.

👉Garnish with saffron strings on top and serve.

Yield-6 small modaks depending on the mould you use
