Palak Paneer
Palak paneer is one of most loved traditional North Indian side dish made from cottage cheese (paneer) simmered in a spinach gravy which is flavoured with onion, tomato, ginger and spices. This gravy is usually served with roti,flavoured rice, chapati,paratha or naan. This a very simple recipe and can be done in a jiffy. Learn how to make this delicious palak paneer recipe below.
Ingredients
Palak ( spinach)-1 big bunchPaneer-250 gms diced to cubes
Onion -1 no chopped
Tomato -1 no chopped
Ginger -1 inch piece
Garlic -4 cloves
Green chillies -2 nos
Red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
Dhaniya powder -2 tsp
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh cream -2 tbsps
Bay leaf -1 no
Cumin seeds ( jeera)-1 tsp
Butter +oil -1 tbsp
Method
👉Wash the spinach and cut the lengthy stalks.👉Blanch in hot water for 2- 4 mins.Strain the spinach in a colander and show under running cold water.Set aside.
👉Meanwhile heat oil in a kadai add jeera, garlic, ginger, green chillies, onion and sauté well then add tomatoes and cook until mushy.Transfer to mixie jar allow it to cool.
👉Add the blanched spinach to the mixie jar and grind everything together to a fine paste do not add water for grinding.
👉Now again heat kadai add butter+oil , add bay leaf,red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder sauté for few seconds.
👉Pour the palak paste mix well, add salt.
👉Add fresh cream mix well.
👉Add paneer cubes mix well.Cook for 2-4 mins.
👉Garnish with fresh cream and grated paneer on top and serve hot.
