Chocolate Modak

Chocolate modak is one of the most yummiest and easiest modak or kozhukattai to make.It is a very simple recipe which is made with
just 3 main ingredients like unsweetened khoya(mawa), cocoa powder and powdered sugar.I have just made plain chocolate modak without any filling but if you like you can add dry fruits like badam, pista, cashews etc as filling.Check out the delicious chocolate modak recipe below.

Cocoa powder -1 tbsp
Powdered sugar -1/4 cup

Method

👉Heat ghee in a kadai, add unsweetened khoya, mix well until it melts and becomes gooey.

👉Add cocoa powder mix well.

👉Once the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the kadai remove from fire .

👉Allow the mixture to cool down.

👉When it is just slightly warm add in the sugar and cardamom powder.(Note - if you add sugar when the mixture is hot it will become watery again and you won't be able to shape modaks so always add sugar once the mixture has cooled down considerably).

👉Knead the chocolate mixture well without any lumps.Add ghee if required.

👉Fill in the moulds with the chocolate mixture and shape it to modaks.

👉Yummy chocolate modak ready in a jiffy.

Preparation Time -30 mins
Yield- 8-10 modaks
