Preparing this Wheat Rava Idli is quite simple. This is dish prepared by roasting broken wheat rava, mixing it with curd and water to form a batter, and letting it rest for 20–30 minutes. The batter is tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, grated ginger, and green chilies, with optional additions like carrots or coriander for extra flavor. Just before steaming, a pinch of baking soda or Eno is added for fluffiness. The batter is then poured into greased idli molds and steamed for 10–12 minutes. Serve hot with chutney or sambar for a wholesome meal.

Wheat Rava Idlis are best served hot with a side of coconut chutney, mint chutney, or a steaming bowl of sambar. For an extra touch of flavor, you can drizzle a little ghee over the idlis before serving.

Tips for Perfect Wheat Rava Idlis

Roast the Wheat Rava: Roasting enhances the flavor of the rava and prevents the idlis from becoming sticky.
Consistency Matters: Ensure the batter is thick yet pourable. Add water gradually while mixing to get the right consistency.
Rest the Batter: Letting the batter rest allows the wheat rava to absorb moisture, resulting in soft and fluffy idlis.
Temper with Care: Adjust the spice levels in the tempering to suit your taste preferences.
