Broccoli Poriyal/Broccoli stir fry

Broccoli poriyal is a nutritious and tasty South Indian style stir- fry made with broccoli. Usually, broccoli is taken as soups or in salads but in this recipe, I have used it to make poriyal ( stir-fry ). It tastes superb and can be done in a jiffy with just basic ingredients. Check out the recipe below.

Ingredients

Broccoli - 1 no cut to medium sized florets
Onion -1 no chopped
Garlic -4 cloves chopped
Red chilly powder -1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Grated coconut -1 tbsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Red chill -1 no
Curry leaves few
Salt to taste
Oil -2 tsps

Method 

👉Cut the broccoli to florets ,wash well and cook in boiling water for 3-5 mins until the stalk is cooked 3/4 th. Drain the water and set the broccoli aside.

👉Simultaneously heat oil in a kadai ,add cumin seeds,red chilly,curry leaves allow it to splutter next add garlic and onion sauté well.

👉Add the red chilly powder, turmeric powder mix well.

👉Finally add the cooked broccoli, salt mix gently and continue to sauté for 2-4 mins.

👉Garnish with grated coconut serve hot.

Preparation Time -15 mins
Serves -4

Note

✍️Make sure you don't overcook the broccoli.
✍️You can add ginger garlic paste too.
