How to make traditional maa ladoo or maladu or pottukadalai ladoo


Maa ladoo or maladu is a very traditional and nutritious protein rich ladoo variety made with roasted gram dal and sugar .It is also called Pottu kadalai ladoo.Its very easy to make and tastes absolutely delicious.It is an healthy snack for children.

Ingredients

Roasted gram dhal/pottukadalai-200 gms
Sugar-150 gms
Ghee-100 gms
Cashews-few
Cardamom powder-1/2 tsp

Method

👉First dry roast the roasted gram dhal slightly.grind it to fine powder.




👉Powder the sugar.



👉Roast the cashews in 1 tsp ghee until golden brown set aside.
  👉In a bowl or plate add both the powders , roasted cashews and cardamom powder mix well.


👉Heat ghee in a tadka pan, remove from fire keep it ready by side.
👉Add the hot ghee little by little over the powdered mixture and mix well then make small firm balls/ ladoos while still warm.
👉Store in airtight container.

Preparation Time-30 mins
Yield -10-12 ladoos
