Green gram dal sundal or paasi paruppu sundal

Green gram dal sundal is a healthy tasty traditional South Indian sundal variety made as neivadanam during Navratri festival. This sundal is made by cooking the dal separately and sauteeing it with tempering,ginger and grated coconut. Ingredients

Green gram dhal(paasi paruppu)-2 cups
Red chillies-1 broken
Green chillies-2 finely chopped
Ginger-1 inch piece chopped fine
Grated coconut-2 tbsps
Asafoetida- a pinch
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad dhal-1 tsp
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tsp
Curry leaves few

Method

👉First dry roast the dhal,then wash and soak in water for 10 mins.
👉Now cook the dhal in boiling water until its 3/4 th cooked,drain the excess water.
👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds, urad dhal ,cumin seeds, red chillies,green chillies,ginger,curry leaves allow it to splutter finally add the cooked green gram dhal  and salt and saute for 2 mins.
👉Add grated coconut at the end mix well serve.
