Jam kozhukattai or jam modak recipe

Jam kozhukattai or modak is a very unique and tasty variety of kozhukattai made with jam as filling encased with regular processed rice flour dough as outer covering. It is very tasty and can be done in a jiffy. Make sure you seal the kozhukattai properly to prevent the jam from oozing out.It saves a lot of time for those you can't prepare any traditional variety of stuffing for the modak and kids will love this too.  Check out how to make this yummy jam kozhukattai or jam modak recipe below.

Ingredients

Home made processed rice flour/idiyappam flour/ kozhukattai flour-1 cup
Powered sugar-1 tsp
Jam-of your choice 
Gingelly oil-1 tsp

Method

👉For home made processed rice flour Click here .
👉Boil water.
👉In a bowl add rice flour,sugar, gingelly oil and hot water little by little and make a soft dough.
👉Now take lemon sized ball of the dough and slightly spread it out.
👉Keep a small scoop of the jam in the centre and cover it with the dough.(make sure that there are no gaps or cracks as the jam may ooze out while steaming).

👉Place this in greased kolukattai mould and gently press it to get kolukattai shape.
👉Steam it in idli cooker for 7mins.

👉An yummy jam kolukattai is ready.
👉I have used blue berry jam as filling.

Yield-10-12 nos
