Urad dal Laddu or Ulundu ladoo is a traditional delicious Ladoo variety made with just three ingredients ie urad dal, sugar and ghee. It is a very simple recipe and apt for beginners to try for this festive occasion.The main tip for making this recipe is to roast the urad dal properly; otherwise, the ladoos will have a raw flavour, so roast the urad dal patiently in a medium flame without burning it. Another thing to keep in mind is the amount of ghee used; do not add all of the ghee at once; instead, mix the mixture well and try to hold it together; if it holds its shape, begin rolling into ladoos; if not, add more ghee.This urad dal ladoo is one of the easiest and quickest sweet to make . Ingredients 

Urad dal-1 cup

Powdered Sugar-3/4 cup-1 cup

Cardamom powder -2 nos

Ghee-1/2 cup or as required

Method 

👉Dry roast the urad dal in medium flame until golden brown colour. Transfer to a plate and allow it to cool down until slightly warm.



👉Powder finely set aside.



👉Powder the sugar along with cardamom and set aside.





👉Heat ghee and keep it ready.

👉In a plate or a mixing bowl add powdered urad dal, powdered sugar and mix well. 







👉Now add hot ghee little by little as needed until you can hold the mixture together.




👉Now make lemon sized ladoos . Garnish with saffron , cashews etc. and enjoy.




👉Store in a airtight container.



Note -

✍️You can add jaggery instead of sugar.

✍️You can use whole black urad dal too for this recipe .



Preparation time-30 mins

Yield -10-12 ladoos depending on size.
