Ingredients 

Sorakkai / Bottlegourd-2 nos medium sized or 1 big sized
Mustard seeds -1/2 Tsp 
Urad dal-1 Tsp 
Turmeric powder -1/4 Tsp 
Curry leaves few
Salt to taste 
Coriander leaves few
Oil -3 Tsps 

For Masala 

Cumin seeds -1 Tsp 
Fennel seeds -1 Tsp 
Pepper corns -1/4 Tsp 
Red chillies -4 nos
Garlic -6 nos 
Grated coconut -1/4 cup
Curry leaves -few

Method 

👉Wash and scrape the skin of the Bottlegourd and cut to small cubes.


👉Powder the ingredients given for Masala coarsely set aside.



👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and allow it to splutter.



👉Add the Sorakkai, turmeric powder and sauté for few seconds.





👉Pour 1/2-3/4 glass of water and cook covered for 10-15 or until the Bottlegourd is done.




👉Open the lid and allow any moisture present in the veggies to evaporate completely.



👉Add required salt mix well.




👉Add the ground masala and mix everything well and continue to cook for 2-4 mins.





👉Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and switch off the gas.




👉Serve hot.
