Oats Idli

Oats idli is one of the delicious,nutritious and easy to make instant idli variety that can be made very quickly.


The procedure for making this oats idli is similar to rava idli. Check out how to make this healthy and tasty oats idli recipe below.


Ingredients

Oats -1 cup heaped
Rava -1/2 cup
Curd -1/2 -1 cup slightly whipped
Green chillies -2 nos finely chopped
Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Urad dal -1 tsp
Bengal gram dal -1 tsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves few
Cashews few
Salt to taste
Baking soda -1/4 tsp
Oil -1 tbsp

Method

👉Dry roast the oats for 2 minutes in medium flame,powder it and set aside.



👉Dry roast the rava for a minute set aside.


👉In a mixing bowl add both the powdered oats and rava.set aside.
👉Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, urad dal,cumin seeds,green chillies,curry leaves and sauté well.


👉Add this tempering into the mixing bowl.


👉Add curd,salt,little water mix well and make to idli batter consistency.




👉Cover with lid and set aside for 10 mins.



👉Again check the batter, if too thick add little water and adjust the consistency.
👉Add baking soda,coriander leaves and mix well.



👉Grease idli plates with oil .Pour a laddle full of batter into the moulds .


👉Steam cook for 10 mins.



👉Check whether done using a tooth pick.


👉Remove the oats idli from the moulds gently after allowing it to cool down a bit.


👉Serve hot with tomato thokku,coconut chutney etc .

Note-

✍️You can add grated carrots,beans etc.
