Ingredients

Garlic -20-25 cloves
Red chillies -10-15 nos
Urud dal -1/4 cup
Coriander seeds -1/4 cup
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Curry leaves few
Asafetida a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil -1 tsp

Method

👉Heat oil in a kadai, roast the urud dal until light golden colour then add the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and sauté until aromatic.

👉Remove from fire allow it to cool down then transfer to mixie jar and powder it coarsely.

👉Meanwhile saute the garlic in the same kadai until you get light golden colour

👉Cool the garlic and add it to the powdered dal mixture and just give it a whip.Use the pulse or whip button in your mixie.

👉Allow the podi to cool down completely store in airtight container or bottle.

Note

✍️Usually they add the garlic along with the skin but I have used it without the skin.
✍️This powder should be coarse.
