Thengai puranam kozhukattai is yummy
traditional south Indian variety of kozhukattai(modhak) made with simple grated coconut and jaggery as puranam(filling) and processed rice flour for outer covering.Check out how to make this thengai puranam kozhukattai recipe below.

Ingredients

Homemade Processed Rice flour/ idiyappam flour/ kozhukattai flour-1 cup or 250 gms
Grated coconut-1 cup
Jaggery syrup-1/2 cup
Cardamom powder-a pinch
Salt -a pinch
Gingelly oil-1 tsp
Ghee- 1 tsp

👉Dissolve jaggery in water and boil it for a minute and strain it to remove impurities set aside.
For PURANAM-
👉Heat ghee in a pan add grated coconut , Jaggery syrup and cardamom powder and mix well until the mixture thickens.set aside.




For Kozhukattai Dough-

👉Boil water in a vessel.
👉In a mixing bowl add rice flour,a pinch of salt, gingelly oil, hot water little by little and make to soft dough.cover it with a clean moist muslin cloth.set aside.





 For making Kozhukattai-

👉Take a small lemon sized balls of the dough and slightly spread it in your greased palm .
👉Now take small gooseberry sized puranam and place it in the centre cover with dough .
👉Keep it in kozhukattai mould gently press it to get shape.



👉Steam the kozhukattai in idli cooker for 7-10 mins.
👉Once cooked the kozhukattai will be glossy and nonsticky .


Preparation Time-30 minutes 
Yield-10-12 Kozhukattais
