Vinayagar Chaturthi, the festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, is celebrated with immense devotion and joy across India. Ingredients


Roasted rava -1 cup
Jaggery-1-1 & 1/2 cups
Grated coconut -1/2 cup
Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp
Ghee -1 tsp
Water -3&1/2 cups

Method 

👉In a kadai add powdered jaggery and dissolve it in 3&1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil (Note -if you are using regular jaggery melt it , strain and use).


👉Add grated coconut, cardamom powder and teaspoon of ghee mix well.


👉Next add in roasted rava and mix well without any lumps cook covered for 5 minutes or until the rava is cooked completely (Note :add extra water if required).


👉Remove the mixture from the fire and transfer to a bowl and cool a bit.


👉Smear your palms with ghee and while the mixture is still warm enough to handle make Kozhukattais. You can just roll it into ladoo shapes or make pidi kozhukattais or use a mould to shape the modaks.




👉Boil water in a steamer vessel.


👉Place the kozhukattais in the steamer plate and steam cook for 5-7 minutes.



👉Remove from fire allow to cool and then serve.




Total Preparation Time-30 minutes 
Yield -for 1 cup rava-25 modaks depending on size
