This kadalai paruppu sundal or Bengal gram dal sundal is a delicious traditional and super easy to make Sundal variety for Navratri festival.For this recipe Bengal gram dal is washed and soaked for just 1/2-1 hour then pressure cooked for 1 whistle along with salt and required water. Then the water is drained, now a tempering is given and the cooked dal is added followed by special masala powder and sautéed for few minutes then garnished and served . Ingredients

Bengal gram dhal-1 cup
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Urud dhal-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida a pinch
Oil-1 tsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves few

For Powder-

Grated coconut-1 tbsp
Ginger -1 inch piece
Green chillies-3 nos
Cumin seeds-1 tsp

Method

👉Soak the dhal for 1/2 hour.
👉Pressure cook it along with salt and just enough water to cover the dal for 1 whistle, drain the water and set the dal aside.
👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds, urud dhal, asafoetida, curry leaves and sauté for a minute.
👉Then add the cooked dhal,followed by the powdered mixture.
👉Mix everything well,check for salt.
👉Garnish and serve.
