Ingredients

For Masala

Bengal gram dal-1 Tbsp 

Urad dal-1 Tbsp 

Coriander seeds-1 1/2 Tbsps 

Cumin seeds-1 tsp 

Pepper corns-1/2-1 tsp 

Peanuts-1-2 Tbsps

Red chillies-6-8 nos 

Curry leaves-2 cups

Tamarind-a small gooseberry sized 

Grated coconut-2 Tbsps 

Asafoetida a pinch

Oil -1 tsp 

 Other Ingredients- 

Cooked rice -2 cups (grains should be seperate)

Small onions-10-15 nos chopped 

Crushed garlic -4-6 nos 

Cashews-few 

Mustard seeds-1 tsp 

Urad dal-1 tsp 

Bengal gram dal-1 tsp

Salt to taste 

Oil -1 Tbsp 

Ghee -1 tsp

Method 

👉In a kadai heat 1 tsp oil add all the ingredients given for masala one by one in the given order and roast well, allow it to cool down completely and then powder it slightly coarsely. Set aside.






👉Again heat oil and ghee in a kadai add mustard seeds, urad dal and Bengal gram dal and finally add cashews and sauté well until golden brown colour.




👉Add crushed garlic and saute for few seconds,then add small onions and saute well until the onions turn translucent.






👉Now add the ground masala powder and salt mix well, sauté for a minute in medium flame.






👉Next add the cooked rice mix everything until well combined.





👉Cook for another 2 mins in medium flame and switch off the gas.



👉Serve hot.
