DHANIYA CHUTNEY , CORIANDER SEEDS CHUTNEY

Dhaniya thuvaiyal is very traditional South Indian chutney or thuvaiyal variety made with coriander seeds.The coriander seeds have unique flavour and their consumption has proved to provide numerous health benefits- 1.Lowers blood sugar as it helps to stimulate insulin production and improve metabolism of carbohydrates.
2.It improves cholesterol levels by lowering the bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing good cholesterol (HDL).
3.Helps in weight loss.
4.Eases stomach upset problems like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) by relieving the contracted digestive muscles and easing discomfort.
5.It has antibacterial properties thus helps in fighting food poisoning.
6.Lowers blood pressure.
7.Relieves pain and discomfort due to urinary tract infection (UTI).
8.It is used as an Ayurveda medicine to treat menstrual problems by regulating the hormones.
9.It prevents neurological disorders like Alzheimers , Parkinson's ,Multiple sclerosis, brain tumor etc

Ingredients

Dhaniya /coriander seeds-150 gms
Urad dhal-2 tbsps
Red chillies-3 
Tamarind small gooseberry sized
Salt to taste
Asafoetida-a pinch
Gingelly oil -1 tsp

Method

👉Heat gingelly oil in a pan add urad dal saute for a minute next add the coriander seeds,red chillies, asafoetida and roast well
until you get a nice aroma and the ingredients turn golden brown.


👉Transfer the ingredients to a mixie jar,add salt and tamarind, allow it to cool a bit .

👉Add little water and grind it to a fine paste


👉Serve with idli,dosa,chapati,poori, appam,rice etc.
