Thengai Thogayal | Thengai Thuvaiyal | Coconut Thogayal recipe
Thengai thuvaiyal/thogayal is a yummy and traditional south Indian thuvaiyal/thogayal (chutney )variety made with coconut.
It is different from our regular coconut chutney where we do not fry the coconut but in this thogayal we saute the coconut along with onion, green chillies, garlic etc and then grind it to paste .There are many variations for this thogayal here I have posted one variety which is Vellai (white) thengai thogayal. Ingredients
Grated coconut - 1 1/2 cups
Onion- 1 no chopped
Garlic -3 pieces
Green chillies - 4 nos
Urad dhal -1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Tamarind- small gooseberry size
Salt
Oil 1 tsp

Method
👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds,urud dal,onion,garlic,green chillies, tamarind fry for a minute,then add coconut saute for 2 minutes until raw smell goes,add salt .
👉Grind everything together adding very little water to a paste.

Note-
✍️This thuvaiyal is a best combination for appam, idli n dosai.
✍️Don't over fry the coconut.
