Onion Chutney | Vengaya Thuvaiyal | Vengaya Chutney
A delicious spicy and traditional South Indian style chutney variety made with onions, grated coconut and red chilli powder which is ground to paste and then cooked until the raw smell goes . This onion chutney or thuvaiyal is a very simple and easy to make recipe that can be done in a jiffy. Ingredients
Onion-6 nos chopped roughly
Red chilli powder-1 1/2-2 tsps
Grated coconut-2 Tbsps
Salt -1/2 tsp or to taste
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves -few
Oil -1 Tbsp

Method
👉In a mixie jar add the chopped onions, red chilli powder, grated coconut, salt and 1/2 cup water and grind to fine paste
👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds and curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
👉Add the ground paste. Add 3/4 cup water and mix well.
👉Cook covered for 5 mins or until the raw smell goes colour changes and the mixture thickens.
👉Switch off the gas.
👉Serve hot with idli dosa etc..
