Double Beans Masala Poriyal

Double beans masala poriyal is a delicious, nutritious and easy to make south indian style poriyal  (stir-fry) variety.Double beans also called lima beans or butter beans is a nutty flavoured legume which is rich in proteins, fibre, iron, calcium ,manganese,  potassium , and vitamins.

Ingredients

Double beans -1 1/2 cups
Onion -1 no chopped 
Ginger garlic paste -1 tbsp
Red chilly powder -1 tsp
Dhaniya powder -2 tsps
Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Salt to taste 
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Red chilly -1 no
Curry leaves and coriander leaves -few
Oil -2 tsps

Method

👉Wash and soak the double beans overnight.Discard the water and add fresh water just enough to cover the beans and pressure cook it for 3 whistles ,discard the water keep the cooked bean aside.

👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,red chilly,curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
👉Add onion and saute well for 2 minutes.
👉Next add ginger garlic paste and saute well for a minute.

👉Now add the cooked double beans,red chilly powder, dhaniya powder ,turmeric powder ,garam masala and salt mix everything well.Continue to saute the double beans for 2-4 mins .

👉Garnish and serve hot.

Note -

✍️Instead of double beans you can add kidney beans (rajma) or any other bean variety.
