Aval Mixture/ Poha Mixture/ Flattened Rice Mixture

Aval mixture is a traditional yummy and easy to make mixture variety for Diwali using flattened rice/aval. If you have all the ingredients ready at home you can prepare this poha chivda in no time . Check out how to make traditional aval mixture recipe below.

Ingredients

Aval/flattened rice/poha-2 cups
Omapodi-1 cup
Fried cashews-1/4 cup
Fried Groundnuts-1/2 cup
Fried Roasted gram /pottukadalai-1/4 cup
Red chilly powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Asafoetida -1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Fried curry leaves

Method

👉Deep fry the aval (poha) and drain the excess oil in tissue paper.
👉Deep fry the cashews,groundnuts,curry leaves and roasted gram drain excess oil in tissue paper.
👉Now in a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix well by tossing.


👉Store in airtight container.
