Channa Sundal | Kondaikadalai Sundal
Channa Sundal also known as kondaikadalai Sundal is a delicious healthy and traditional Sundal variety made during Navratri festival.It is a very popular dish in Southern states of India and prepared as prasadham during the auspicious Navratri festival and other occasions or as evening tea time snack . Ingredients
Channa -1 cupMustard seeds-1tsp
Urud dhal-1 tsp
Asafoetida a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves few
For Powder-Grind Coarsely
Grated coconut-1 tbspGinger-1 inch piece
Red chillies-2 nos
Cumin seeds/jeera-1 tsp
Method
👉Wash and soak the channa overnight.👉Cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles along with salt and just enough water to cover the channa,release the pressure and drain the water and set channa aside.
👉Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds,urud dhal, asafoetida, curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
👉Add the cooked channa followed by the ground powder, mix everything well.
👉Check for salt and saute for a minute . Garnish and serve.
