Sweet Corn Pulao – A Quick, Flavourful One-Pot Meal

If you’re looking for a quick, wholesome, and delicious one-pot meal, Sweet Corn Pulao is a perfect choice. This mildly spiced rice dish combines the natural sweetness of corn with aromatic Indian spices and fragrant basmati rice, making it a family-friendly favorite that works for both lunch and dinner.

Sweet corn pulao is an excellent option for vegetarians and can be made vegan by simply using oil instead of ghee. The dish typically includes whole spices like bay leaf, cinnamon, and cloves, along with ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and sautéed onions, which add depth and warmth to the pulao. Sweet corn kernels bring a slight crunch and subtle sweetness, balancing the spices beautifully.

This recipe is especially great when you’re short on time but don’t want to compromise on flavor. It pairs wonderfully with raita, plain curd, or a simple salad. You can also add vegetables like carrots, beans, or capsicum to make it more nutritious. Best of all, it can be made in a pressure cooker, instant pot, or regular pot with equally tasty results.

Sweet Corn Pulao is not only a great meal prep idea but also a kid-friendly rice dish that even picky eaters love. With minimal chopping and cooking time, it’s ideal for busy weekdays, yet elegant enough for small gatherings.
